Barcelona airport to cruise port: taxi, Aerobus, metro or your line's transfer

From Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, a taxi is the simplest way to the ship. The metropolitan taxi tariff fixes the fare to the Adossat wharf terminals at €46 with every supplement included, as published on November 4, 2026. The Aerobus, metro and train cost less but stop in the city, so you still need a taxi or the Cruise Bus for the last leg.

Barcelona's airport is Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, BCN, with two terminals, T1 and T2. The port puts the airport 17 km away. The Aerobus, metro, train and bus 46 all stop in the city rather than at the port, so a taxi, a ride app or your line's transfer is the only way to go straight to the ship.

First check which terminal your ship uses. The taxi fare depends on it, and so does the last leg if you take public transport. The terminals guide explains how to find yours.

How far is Barcelona airport from the cruise port?

The port puts the airport 17 km from the port. By OpenStreetMap routing on November 4, 2026, the drive is 17 to 20 km to the Adossat wharf terminals, 22 to 28 minutes without traffic, and 15 to 17 km to the World Trade Center terminal, 17 to 18 minutes. Terminal 2 is the closer of the two airport terminals.

TripRoad distanceTime without traffic
T1 to Terminal A19.4 km, 12.1 miles25 minutes
T1 to Terminal E20.3 km, 12.6 miles28 minutes
T1 to the World Trade Center17.2 km, 10.7 miles18 minutes
T2 to Terminal A17.5 km, 10.9 miles23 minutes
T2 to Terminal E18.4 km, 11.4 miles27 minutes
T2 to the World Trade Center15.3 km, 9.5 miles17 minutes

The MSC terminal is not on the map we route with. The port puts it 3.9 km from the city against 3 km for Terminal E, so allow a little more. OpenStreetMap times assume clear roads, and the routes to the Adossat wharf pass the World Trade Center on the way.

What is the easiest way from Barcelona airport to the cruise port?

A taxi from the rank outside arrivals. Aena says there are ranks opposite the arrivals areas of T1 and of T2A, T2B and T2C, and that the only official Barcelona taxi is black and yellow. To the Adossat wharf terminals the fare is fixed at €46 with every supplement included, under the metropolitan taxi tariff for 2026 read on November 4, 2026.

Public transport is cheaper for up to three people. For four, the Aerobus with one metro trip at €10.15 each plus the Cruise Bus at €3.50 each comes to €54.60 at the fares published on November 4, 2026, more than one €46 taxi. With checked bags, the taxi is the option we would take.

How much is a taxi from Barcelona airport to the cruise port?

€46 to any terminal on the Adossat wharf. The AMB's Metropolitan Taxi Institute sets a fixed fare, called T-4, for trips between the airport and the Moll Adossat cruise dock in either direction, and says all surcharges are included. That is the 2026 tariff, read on November 4, 2026. To the World Trade Center terminal, the meter runs instead.

  • The fixed fare. The €46 is for the journey, not per person, and the AMB says it already includes every supplement.
  • To the World Trade Center. The terminal is not on the Moll Adossat, so the meter applies. The 2026 tariff charges €2.80 at the start, €1.35 a km from 8 am to 8 pm on weekdays and €1.66 a km on weekday nights, Saturdays and public holidays, plus a €4.60 airport supplement. Over 14 to 18 km that comes to €27 to €37 by our arithmetic, before any time charged in traffic at €27.75 an hour.
  • Minimum fare. A metered trip from the airport costs at least €21, supplements included.
  • Bigger cars. Metered trips in a vehicle carrying five to eight passengers add €4.60.
  • Luggage. The 2026 tariff lists no luggage supplement, and the AMB says the driver must help you load and unload bags from the trunk.
  • Paying. Cash or card, the AMB says, and some taxis take contactless or app payment. Drivers must carry change for up to €20. Ask for the printed receipt, which you need for a complaint or a lost item.

Can you take Uber or a ride app from Barcelona airport?

Yes. Aena lists Uber, Cabify and Bolt as vehicles for hire at the airport, each with its own pick-up points at T1 and T2. The fare is set in the app, and we found no official figure for the trip to the port. Some of the same apps also book licensed taxis, which must charge the official fares.

  • Taxi through an app. The AMB lists apps that operate in the metropolitan area within the taxi rules, among them Uber, Cabify and Freenow by Lyft. Taxi drivers working through them must charge the official fares.
  • Fixed price by app. The AMB's T-3 fare is a fixed price quoted in advance by approved apps, with an €8 minimum.
  • Where to meet the car. Follow the app. Aena's pick-up points for Uber include T1 floor 2 and floor 0 and the express car parks at T2A and T2B. Cabify and Bolt meet on floor 0 at both terminals.

How do you get from Barcelona airport to the port by Aerobus?

Take the Aerobus to Plaça de Catalunya, then a taxi, or the metro and the Cruise Bus, to the ship. Line A1 leaves from T1 and line A2 from T2, and both stop at Plaça Espanya and Plaça Universitat on the way to Plaça de Catalunya. A single cost €7.75 and a return €13.30 on Aerobus's fares page on November 4, 2026.

  • How often. Aerobus runs 24 hours a day. From T1, the A1 leaves every 5 minutes from 7:15 am to 10:30 pm. From T2, the A2 leaves every 10 minutes from 5:35 am to 11 pm. Overnight, the A1 runs every 20 minutes from 1:05 am to 5:35 am and the A2 from 11 pm to 5:35 am.
  • How long. The journey takes 30 to 35 minutes, Aerobus says, depending on the time of day.
  • Bags. There is a reserved space inside for large luggage, wheelchairs and strollers.
  • Return tickets. The return half is valid for 90 days from the outbound trip, which covers most cruises if you fly home from Barcelona.
  • The last leg by taxi. From Plaça de Catalunya to the Adossat wharf terminals is 5.5 to 6.5 km by OpenStreetMap routing, so €15 to €18 on the meter with the €4.60 port supplement, by our arithmetic on the 2026 tariff. To the World Trade Center it is 3.3 km and €7 to €9, with no port supplement.
  • The last leg by metro. Metro L3 runs from Catalunya two stops to Drassanes, near the World Trade Center and the Cruise Bus stop. The Aerobus ticket does not cover it. Aerobus sells a combined ticket with one metro or bus trip for €10.15.

Can you take the metro from Barcelona airport to the cruise port?

Partly. Metro L9 Sud runs from both airport terminals every 7 minutes, TMB says, but it does not reach the port. Change at Zona Universitària to L3 and ride to Drassanes, near the World Trade Center, then walk to the terminal or to the Cruise Bus. The airport metro ticket cost €5.90 on TMB's fares page on November 4, 2026.

  • Which ticket. The €2.90 single ticket and the €13 T-casual are not valid at the Aeroport T1 and Aeroport T2 stations. The airport ticket is, and so is the Hola Barcelona Travel Card, from €12.50. If you arrive at an airport station with the wrong ticket, you have to buy an airport ticket to get out.
  • How long. TMB says the L9 Sud takes 32 minutes from the airport to the city. The L3 leg comes on top.
  • Hours. ATM says the metro runs from 5 am to midnight Monday to Thursday, until 2 am on Fridays and the eve of public holidays, and all night on Saturday nights.
  • From Drassanes to the Cruise Bus. Cunard's directions go from the bottom of La Rambla to the roundabout at the Columbus monument, then 200 m along Passeig Josep Carner to Plaça de les Drassanes and onto the two tree-lined roads to the World Trade Center, where the Cruise Bus stops. Cunard calls it a five-minute walk.

With two suitcases each, two metro lines and a shuttle add up to a lot of lifting. We would keep the metro for a light bag.

Can you take the train from Barcelona airport to the city?

Yes, the R2 Nord commuter line, from Terminal 2 only. ATM says it connects with Barcelona Sants, Passeig de Gràcia and El Clot-Aragó, with departures "every 30 minutes, approximately, from 6 am to midnight." From T1, take the airport's free shuttle bus to T2. Every integrated ticket is valid on the train to and from the airport, so there is no special airport ticket.

  • Fares. A T-casual, 10 trips, cost €13 on TMB's fares page on November 4, 2026, the same as ATM's January 2026 price list. ATM says the T-casual is not valid at the airport metro stations but does take you to the airport by train or bus.
  • Zones. ATM's metropolitan fare lets one-zone tickets cover trips between the 36 municipalities of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area.
  • Changes. A one-zone T-casual allows up to three changes within 75 minutes of the first validation, ATM says.
  • To the port. Get off at Passeig de Gràcia and change to metro L3 for Drassanes, three stops toward Zona Universitària. Then walk to the World Trade Center or the Cruise Bus as above.

Do cruise lines offer transfers from Barcelona airport?

Some do. Norwegian says it sells ground transfers between the airport and the pier, bookable in My NCL at Step 4 of Online Check-In at least 4 days before sailing. Viking includes round-trip airport transfers when you buy your flights through Viking and sells them separately otherwise. Cunard says guests who book flights with Cunard are met at Barcelona airport and taken to the ship by coach.

None of the three showed a Barcelona transfer price on the pages we read on November 4, 2026. Ask your line what it charges for your party, then compare it with one €46 taxi. If your line is not listed here, check its pre-cruise pages, since we only name lines whose own pages say they sell transfers.

Flying in on sailing day

The drive is under half an hour without traffic, but a transatlantic flight that lands late leaves little margin for the bags, the taxi line and check-in. We would fly in the day before.

How do you get from the cruise port back to the airport?

The same way in reverse. The AMB's fixed T-4 fare of €46 also covers a taxi from the Moll Adossat cruise dock to the airport, as published on November 4, 2026, while a taxi from the World Trade Center runs on the meter. The Aerobus to the airport leaves from Plaça de Catalunya, the A1 for T1 and the A2 for T2.

  • Which airport terminal. Aerobus says to check with your airline which terminal you fly from, since the A1 ends at T1 and the A2 at T2.
  • Aerobus stops toward the airport. The A1 boards at Plaça de Catalunya, Carrer Sepúlveda and Plaça Espanya. You cannot board at Plaça Universitat in this direction.
  • A day in the city first. Luggage services can carry your bags from the terminal to the airport while you sightsee. The port to city center guide has the details and prices.
