Hotels near Barcelona cruise port: which area to stay in before your cruise
Five of Barcelona's six cruise terminals are on the Adossat wharf, and no hotel in our table is within a 20-minute walk of one, so whichever area you pick, you reach the ship by taxi or the Cruise Bus. Port Vell hotels are a short walk from the World Trade Center terminal, which the port plans to close at the end of 2026. Plaça de Catalunya and Plaça d'Espanya are on the Aerobus route, and airport hotels with free shuttles suit a late landing.

The table above compares hotels in Port Vell, the old town and the center, and five near the airport. Choose by your terminal first and your flight second. Your cruise documents name the terminal, and the terminals guide explains how to find it.
For most sailings, the walk does not decide it. The World Trade Center terminal is the only one you can walk to from a hotel, and the port plans to close it at the end of 2026. On the port's plan, from 2027 every city hotel is a taxi or shuttle ride from the ship, so pick the area for the evening before you sail.
How to use the table
- Three terminal columns. The World Trade Center terminal, Terminal A, 2 km from the city by the port's figures, and the MSC terminal, 3.9 km out at the far end of the Adossat wharf. Terminals B, D and E lie between A and the MSC terminal.
- Walk or drive. Times are OpenStreetMap routes from the hotel's address to the terminal building, without traffic. A walk of up to 20 minutes is shown as a walk, and anything longer as a drive.
- The order. Hotels within that walk of a terminal come first, nearest first, then the rest by drive time, then the hotels near the airport. It is a distance order, not a ranking of quality.
- For cruise passengers. What the hotel's own website says about cruise shuttles, cruise packages and airport shuttles, read on November 4, 2026.
- Parking. The fee the hotel publishes, where it publishes one. The port says there is no long-term parking in the cruise area itself.
- No room rates. Rates change daily, so we do not print them. The "Check prices" button opens the hotel on Booking.com.
Which hotels are closest to Barcelona cruise port?
It depends on the terminal. For the World Trade Center terminal, Eurostars Grand Marina is inside the World Trade Center complex, and the other Port Vell hotels, most of those on La Rambla and in the Raval and Poble-sec, and several in the Gothic Quarter are within a 20-minute walk. For the five Adossat wharf terminals, no hotel in our table is.
The port puts the Adossat terminals 2 km (A and B), 2.5 km (D), 3 km (E) and 3.9 km (MSC) from the city, and the World Trade Center terminal 400 m away. Our schedule lists 2 departures that the port's forecast assigns to the World Trade Center terminal. If your sailing is in 2027 or later and your documents still say World Trade Center, ask your line to confirm it.
Is there a hotel at the Barcelona cruise terminal?
Only at the World Trade Center terminal. Eurostars Grand Marina's own page says it is "located within the World Trade Center complex", and the port's World Trade Center South terminal is the cruise terminal in that complex, though the hotel's page does not name it. None of the hotels in our table is on the Adossat wharf, where the other five terminals are.
The Grand Marina's page also says it is "a bare 2 minutes from the Columbus monument", without saying on foot or by car. The Cruise Bus to the Adossat wharf leaves from Portal de la Pau, next to La Rambla and the World Trade Center.
Which area of Barcelona should I stay in before a cruise?
Pick by your terminal and your flight. Port Vell suits the World Trade Center terminal, and the Cruise Bus stops by the World Trade Center too. The Gothic Quarter and El Born put the old town on your doorstep and the ship a taxi ride away. Plaça de Catalunya and Plaça d'Espanya are on the Aerobus route from the airport, and the airport hotels suit a late landing.

Port Vell and La Rambla
These are the hotels closest to the port. Hotel Duquesa de Cardona's page says Drassanes metro station is "just a few minutes' walk from the hotel", and Barceló Raval's page lists the port as 1 km away. Hotel Medinaceli and Hotel del Mar park guests' cars at Plaça de Pau Vila, 700 m and 130 m away, and ask you to check in first.
The Gothic Quarter and El Born
These suit an evening in the old town before you sail. Kimpton Vividora's page says you can walk to Port Vell "in just a few minutes". From here the ship is a taxi ride, and the table shows the drive to each terminal.
Barceloneta
Hotel 54 Barceloneta's page says it faces Port Vell, a few meters from the Barceloneta and Sant Sebastià beaches. W Barcelona's own page says the hotel is being renovated from October 26 through late spring 2027, with its Salt restaurant, Wet Deck and Salt Beach Club reopening in summer 2027.
Which Barcelona hotels are on the Aerobus route?
The ones around Plaça de Catalunya and Plaça d'Espanya. Both Aerobus lines stop at Plaça Espanya and Plaça Universitat on the way to Plaça de Catalunya, and a single cost €7.75 on Aerobus's fares page on November 4, 2026. In our table, four hotels are in the Plaça de Catalunya and Universitat area and two at Plaça d'Espanya.
- From the airport. The A1 leaves from Terminal 1 and the A2 from Terminal 2. Aerobus says the journey takes 30 to 35 minutes.
- Back to the airport. The A1 boards at Plaça de Catalunya, Carrer Sepúlveda and Plaça Espanya. You cannot board at Plaça Universitat in that direction.
- To the ship. A taxi from Plaça de Catalunya to an Adossat terminal comes to €15 to €18 on the meter, by our arithmetic on the 2026 taxi tariff. Metro L3 also runs from Catalunya and from Espanya to Drassanes, a five-minute walk from the Cruise Bus stops on Cunard's directions.

How do you get from a Barcelona hotel to the Adossat cruise terminals?
By taxi or the Cruise Bus. A taxi runs on the meter, with a €4.60 supplement for any trip that starts or ends at the Moll Adossat cruise dock, under the AMB's 2026 tariff read November 4, 2026. The Cruise Bus leaves from Portal de la Pau, by the World Trade Center, for €3.50 one way or €5 for a day ticket, on its website the same day.
- Taxi. The port lists a taxi rank at every terminal. Private cars may drop off passengers and luggage at the terminals but may not park there, the port says. Give the driver your terminal letter and "Moll Adossat".
- Cruise Bus. It publishes no timetable, and its stops page names Terminals A, B, C, D and E but not the MSC terminal, so MSC passengers should ask MSC how to reach the ship.
- With luggage. We would take a taxi. The Cruise Bus publishes no luggage rules.
- Leaving bags. Bags&Go, the luggage service the port lists, stores bags from €6 a bag per day and offers to take them to the ship, it said on November 4, 2026.

Should I stay at an airport hotel before a Barcelona cruise?
If you land late at night, it can make sense. Four hotels in our table are in El Prat de Llobregat, the town the airport is in, and three of them state a free shuttle to the airport on their own pages. Alexandre FrontAir Congress, in nearby Sant Boi de Llobregat, offers one too. The next morning you still need a ride to the port.
- INNSiDE Barcelona Aeropuerto. A free 24-hour minibus, every 20 to 40 minutes and subject to availability, its page says, with one suitcase per person.
- Barcelona Airport Hotel (BAH). A free 24-hour shuttle, its page says.
- Sallés Hotel Ciutat del Prat. A transfer to and from the airport for every room, from 4:30 am to 1:30 am, and a "Special Cruises" pack whose contents its page does not list.
- Sercotel Barcelona El Prat. No airport shuttle on its page.
- The taxi to the ship. The AMB's fixed €46 fare covers trips between the airport and the Moll Adossat. From a hotel in El Prat the meter runs, which comes to €24 to €35 to Terminals A to E by our arithmetic on the 2026 tariff and the OpenStreetMap distances, before any time charged in traffic.
- A lower tourist tax. El Prat charges the rate for the rest of Catalonia plus its own surcharge: €3.60 per person per night at a 4-star hotel until March 31, 2027, against €8.40 in Barcelona city.
Do any Barcelona hotels have a cruise shuttle?
One hotel in our table states a transfer to the cruise terminal: Alexandre FrontAir Congress, near the airport in Sant Boi de Llobregat. Under "We will take you on a cruise", its page lists free private parking during your trip for up to 10 days, a "transfer to the port terminal (one-way only)" and a round-trip airport transfer. It does not name the terminal or give a price.
There is no ride back from the port in the offer, so plan the trip home separately. The same page also gives the hotel's parking as €14 per day. No hotel in the city areas of our table states a cruise shuttle or a cruise package. Several offer airport transfers on request or for a fee, which we do not count as cruise shuttles.
How much is the tourist tax at a Barcelona hotel?
In Barcelona city, €8.40 per person per night at a 4-star hotel and €12.00 at a 5-star, at the rates that run from April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027 on the Catalan tax agency's table, read November 4, 2026. It is charged for up to seven nights, guests aged 16 or under are exempt, and the hotel adds it to your bill.

Each figure is the Catalan tax plus Barcelona's €5.00 surcharge, which the agency's table raises to €6.00 from April 1, 2027. Cruise passengers pay it too, and the cruise line collects it. The day in Barcelona guide has the full table.
